We are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to producing live theatre for the Loveland community. All of the shows you will see us produce are performed, designed, costumed, and technically supported by a dedicated and talented group of volunteer members of our community. We also have members who choose not to perform but who work tirelessly behind the scenes in administrative and clerical areas. All of these people work together to give you high quality shows all season long. The story of the Loveland Community Theatre (LCT) parallels that of community theatre endeavors across the country: an ambitious band of enthusiasts envision a dream to bring live theatre to their community. In the spring of 1978, that dream was realized in Loveland with the birth of LCT. Their first production, “Outward Bound”, was met with rave reviews and rapt audiences. And the rest is history . . . Since then, community theatre has been alive and well in the Sweetheart City. In the early years, LCT’s venue was the Pulliam Building, a cavernous relic generously lent to them by the city. Undaunted by the challenges it posed, the Pulliam remained their home for more than 20 years, until the city’s purchase and restoration of the Rialto Theater were completed, offering them a magnificent new venue – Loveland’s historic jewel in the heart of downtown. Rehearsals, stagings, and set construction still take place at the Pulliam, creating new challenges. Lovelanders have become familiar with the spectacle of LCT caravans winding through the streets of town, as members transport all the trappings for each new show from the Pulliam to the Rialto. LCT had created more than 130 productions in its 30 year history, with zealous commitment to its mission: to serve the cultural, educational and entertainment needs of the community with the creation of live theatre performances. From Neil Simon to William Shakespeare, the Loveland community has enjoyed a rich menu of theatrical experiences. We provide a unique opportunity for anyone interested in theatre arts, to participate in the exciting volunteer activities of community theater. All are welcome. Contact us for more information.
